Religious Life

Our school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate their Catholic faith. This is done through the religious life of our school. Members of our community experience a rich liturgical and prayer life, celebration of the Sacraments, faith formation, social outreach activities, and opportunities to share faith with each other and with youth from other schools in the Archdiocese.

At Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School Prestons, our students regularly engage in Masses in our chapel, celebrating key liturgical events. Students and parents join together to pray each week, and students experience a range of enriching prayer activities in the classroom daily.

Our Catholic school works closely with our local parish and priests to enrich the spiritual life of our students, staff, and families, especially through the celebration of the Sacraments. The parish-based Sacramental program, offered to students from Years 2–6, includes the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. This program is strongly supported by our school community, who accompany students on their faith journey and celebrate these milestones with them.

The staff at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School Prestons engage in faith formation that touches the head, heart, and hands. Our school community supports Catholic charities such as Caritas Australia, Catholic Mission, and the St Vincent de Paul Society. Our active Mini Vinnies group, consisting of many dedicated students, meets weekly to learn about social justice issues and leads fundraising initiatives to support these causes.
